| At J. Howard & Associates, we believe that inclusion of all employees into a cycle of continuous learning and improvement is a key objective of all managers. Our training programs help participants understand that if well-managed, workforce diversity is a business advantage. That established, we then develop the skills necessary to create inclusive work environments. In these programs, we recognize the futility of blame, provide a balanced understanding of the problems, and distribute responsibility for solutions. Two of our more popular programs are Managing InclusionTM and Exploring Diversity and DevelopmentTM. Managing InclusionTM is a two-day interactive workshop designed to transform the challenge of diversity into the opportunity of inclusion. It's not the differences among people, but the emotional reactions to the differences that can distract employees and reduce utilization. In this program, we explore the benefits of a learning environment for all employees and focus on developing skills to eliminate barriers to learning opportunities. The goal is to help managers engage a greater percentage of the work force in core business activities and increase productivity. Exploring Diversity and DevelopmentTM is a one-day program intended to help participants explore assumptions and attitudes about diversity, and understand how reactions to differences can obstruct one's capacity to have supportive and productive work relationships. This program uses shared experiences, hands-on activities, and discussions to help participants build a work environment based on support, trust, and respect for all employees. |
